Three-time Olympic champion with the Brazilian team is inducted into the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2024

Three-time Olympic champion with the Brazilian team, José Roberto Guimarães is one of those nominated for the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2024. Current coach of the Brazilian Women’s Team and THY, from Turkey, the professional competes with three other coaches: Aleksandre Skiba, Gilberto Herrera and Kare Mol.

It is worth remembering that the Volleyball Hall of Fame awards representatives in the male and female indoor categories, as well as beach volleyball players, coaches, leaders and Paralympic volleyball. Last year, Renan Dal Zotto was one of the winners.

In addition to José Roberto Guimarães, Adriana Samuel and Ana Paula Henkel are other Brazilians nominated for the award. The duo competes with North American Elaine Youngs and German duo Julius Brink & Jonas Reckermann, Olympic champions in London 2012.

It is worth remembering that Zé Roberto Guimarães is the only Olympic champion in the world for the Men’s and Women’s Volleyball Teams. Among men he won the medal in Barcelona 1992 and, among women, in Beijing 2008 and London 2012.

How to vote?

Voting for the selection of the Volleyball Hall of Fame in 2024 will be open until April 14th, by popular and specialized choice. In this first phase, fans will be able to vote for as many candidates as they want, through this link. Afterwards, the six candidates with the most votes will be part of a “fan voting ballot”, which will be added to the specialized voting.

To be selected for the Volleyball Hall of Fame, at least 75% of the votes are required. The announcement of those chosen will be made on May 20th, and the celebration will be on October 19th, in Massachusetts, in the United States.
