Flamengo debuted with a draw in the Libertadores, finishing 1-1 with Millonarios at an altitude of 2,640 meters in Bogotá, Colombia, last Tuesday. Rubro-Negro played poorly, but took the lead thanks to a penalty goal conceded by Arrascaeta and converted by Pedro.
Conmebol releases VAR video analyzing Flamengo’s penalty bid
This Wednesday, Conmebol released the VAR audio of the bid analysis (see the video above). During the three minutes between the penalty and the charge, Chilean Silvio Trucco, responsible for video refereeing, assessed whether Arrascaeta’s foul was inside or outside the area and whether it meant the expulsion of defender Vásquez. Finally, he ratified the field decisions of Argentine referee Darío Herrera.
With the draw, Flamengo and Millonarios started equally in Group E of the Libertadores and could be overtaken by Palestino, from Chile, or Bolívar, from Bolivia, who will face each other this Thursday, closing the first round. For the tournament, Rubro-Negro returns to the field next Wednesday, when they will host the Chilean team at 9:30 pm (Brasília time) at Maracanã.
