Flamengo starts ahead, but concedes a draw against Millonarios in the Libertadores debut

O Flamengo won a point due to a bitter draw with Millonarios, this Tuesday (2), for the debut of the Libertadores. Pedro opened the scoring, while Daniel Ruiz left everything the same.

With this, Rubro-Negro begins its journey in the continental competition better than it began in 2023, when the team started the tournament with defeat. Bolívar and Palestino, who also belong to Group E, face each other on Thursday (4).

⚽ HOW WAS THE MATCH?

In the initial stage, Flamengo started the match with a good chance wasted by Bruno Henrique, while Millonarios grew in the final minutes. Striker Castro even hit the post with a header, and Rossi was forced to make a great save with a shot from outside the area to prevent the Colombian team from scoring.

In the second stage, Flamengo came back better with the entry of Allan in place of Igor Jesus. In the 18th minute, Arrascaeta suffered a penalty that resulted in Vasquez being sent off, and Pedro opened the scoring. However, Tite’s team was comfortable with the result and conceded a draw with Daniel Ruiz taking advantage of a cross from the right side and finding the back of the net.
