Hamilton reveals conversations with Serena Williams and Michael Jordan about retirement from F1

At 39 years old, Lewis Hamilton is in its 18th season Formula 1. There are seven titles, 103 victories, 104 pole positions and 197 podiums in 335 starts. These are numbers that make the Englishman one of the greatest of all time, but the whole world knows, due to his age, that his career is closer to the end than the beginning. Is retirement near? Hamilton admits that he has already looked for some references to better understand when to stop and everything that surrounds the decision.

– Some of them were like ‘I didn’t plan it and it was kind of a mess because I really got lost. There was a hole left and I didn’t know how to fill it. I was in such a rush to fill it out, that I ended up filling it in with the wrong thing. And you make mistakes until you find your way.’ Some people took longer (to meet) – it continued.

– Other people took less time, but it made me think: ok, but when I stop, how do I avoid this? And I started to find, more seriously, other things that I was passionate about,” she said.

It’s no secret that Hamilton has other interests and has already ventured into both the world of fashion and music. Even so, at least for now, there is no stopping: Hamilton signed with Ferrari a two-year contract with a reciprocal option for a third and which comes into force only in 2025.
