Universitas secured the leadership of Group 4 of the men’s category of the 8th TV Tribuna School Basketball Cup. The best campaign in the bracket was achieved after the team beat UME Professor Mário de Almeida Alcântara 20-4. The game was played this Monday (1st), at Fefis.

Scorer of two points in the match, winger Gabriel Torres said that his team entered the court unfocused, which affected their performance in the first quarter — the match ended 6-4 for the private school. However, according to the athlete, the school came back better after the break, giving its rival no chance.

— It was a game in which we could have played more. We were already qualified (for the knockout phase) and, therefore, we entered relaxed. But the ending was good — said number 6.

With first place in the group, Universitas goes to the round of 16. On the other hand, the public institution was at the bottom of the G4 and was eliminated from the competition.
