Governor Wilson Lima handed over, this Monday (29), the Residencial Ozias Monteiro II, on Avenida Noel Nutels, Cidade Nova neighborhood, north zone, benefiting 192 families. With approximately R$27.1 million in resources from the Government of Amazonas, the work is part of Amazonas Meu Lar, the largest housing program ever carried out by the state public administration.

The governor was accompanied by state deputies, including the president of the Legislative Assembly of Amazona (ALE-AM), Roberto Cidade, in addition to deputies Adjuto Afonso, João Luiz, Mário César Filho; Mayara Pinheiro; councilors Diego Afonso, Yomara Lins, Marcel Alexandre, Jacqueline Coelho, Lissandro Breval, Elissandro Bessa, Allan Campelo and Rodrigo Guedes. Secretaries and representatives of institutions and companies linked to the housing sector were also present.

As happened with Ozias Monteiro I, the housing units are intended for public servants, including health professionals who worked during the pandemic, as well as those registered with Amazonas Meu Lar, People with Disabilities (PCDs) and the elderly.

“It is a happiness that we can see on the faces of the people who are present here, who will receive a decent, safe home, with all the certificates and regularizations that are necessary for the property, which is in the most developed area of the city of Manaus here in Cidade Nova“, stated the CEO of Suhab, Jivago Castro.

At the time of delivery, the beneficiaries who will receive the keys to the new property financed by the State were present. After the inauguration, they carried out technical visits to the apartments, signed the property’s financing contracts with the State Housing Superintendence (Suhab) and received the keys, in addition to the owner’s manual.

Financing

The financing value of each apartment is R$141 thousand. Those selected will pay the lowest interest rate ever approved by the Government of Amazonas, 1%. The rate previously applied, for example in the Ozias Monteiro I Residential Complex, was 5.5%, as the apartment was financed with resources from the Pró Moradia I Program of Caixa Econômica Federal.

“People who live rented know that we need to have our own home. So, my feeling is one of deep, immense joy, because I will receive my key, the key to my apartment, where I will put my wife and my daughters. On the governor’s part, it is something very human. I am grateful because no other governor looked at health workers in this way”, said Lourenço Quintino, a public servant for 17 years, who welcomed the governor to his new home with his family.

Resumption of work

Construction of the residence began in 2014, with a stoppage order issued in 2015. Governor Wilson Lima signed the resumption of works with the state’s own resources in June 2022 and handed over the apartments to the owners, after almost 10 years of work stoppage.
The apartments are divided into six blocks, with two bedrooms, living/dining room, kitchen and bathroom, measuring approximately 37.76 m². In addition to roads, the residential infrastructure has two green areas and five institutional areas.

In the green area in front of the residential blocks, dedicated to family leisure, Suhab installed a playground for the new residents of Ozias Monteiro 2. The space in question belongs to the municipality, responsible for preparing projects dedicated to the area.

Furthermore, the residence is close to public facilities such as Profº State Schools. José Bernardino Lindoso and Osmar Pedrosa, the Francisca Mendes University Hospital, the Padre Pedro Vignola Family Family Coexistence Center; the Lúcio Fonte de Rezende Judge Forum, from the Amazonas Court of Justice; a Social Security Agency, the Cidade Nova 2 sports complex and Sumaúma Park Shopping.

Selection Criteria

According to Ordinance No. 04/2024, in addition to being intended for people who signed up for Amazonas Meu Lar, PCDs and the Elderly, the residence is also intended for state public servants, servants who have provided service during the period of the Covid-19 pandemic, servants who has a compatible financial margin for the financing modality through consignment, employee in the health sector, employee resident and based in Manaus, full employee with gross monthly income of up to R$ 4,400, considered Band 1 and 2.

Those pre-selected were called for a face-to-face socioeconomic interview at the Housing Superintendency headquarters.

Amazon My Home

The new residence is part of the largest housing program in Amazonas. Launched in 2023 by the Wilson Lima government and estimated at R$4.7 billion, Amazonas Meu Lar provides more than 24 thousand definitive housing solutions for the low-income population, including 22 thousand new housing units and the regularization of 33 thousand properties .

In April 2023, the governor inaugurated the General Rodrigo Otávio Residential Park, next to the Rodrigo Otávio Viaduct, in the Japiim neighborhood, south zone, aimed at 32 families and with the State’s own investments of R$13.6 million.

Another project of this type is under construction, the second housing complex of the Manaus and Interior Social and Environmental Program (Prosamin+). Quadra Habitacional Maués has apartments with advanced foundation work on the blocks being built on Avenida Lourenço da Silva Braga, Cachoeirinha, south of the Amazonian capital.

Furthermore, the state has already resettled around 1,300 families from the communities of Sharp and Manaus 2000, east and south of Manaus. More than 1,700 definitive titles have also been delivered in the capital and interior and more than 13,000 housing units have been regularized, a third of the target established for four years.

The program also guaranteed housing conditions for 4,000 people with the expropriation of the Paschoal Allágio Community area, in Parintins (369 kilometers from the capital), where the Government of Amazonas works to deliver infrastructure and decent housing conditions.

In March, governor Wilson Lima and the president of Caixa Econômica Federal, Carlos Vieira, signed the contract that makes the Meu Lar Entry Subsidy viable. By 2027, the State intends to transfer R$446 million to the bank, allowing around 13 thousand families to have access to housing through Minha Casa, Minha Vida, from the Federal Government, with the subsidy from Amazonas Meu Lar.
