One of Atlético’s objectives is to use more and more base players, which could be possible with the arrival of Gabriel Milito. In a press conference this Wednesday (27/3), Galo’s new coach assured that he always watches young people and explained the process to provide them with opportunities.
Atlético has seven athletes who recently promoted. They are goalkeeper Gabriel Átila, right-back Vitor Gabriel, defender Rômulo, midfielder Paulo Vitor, attacking midfielder Alisson and attackers Cadu and Isaac. Now, to have more opportunities, these players will have to prove their quality to Milito.
“The entire process that I have the opportunity to be in and participate in has promoted young people. I really like using young players, but they have to play well. It’s not about promoting young people and showing that they’re no good, but about promoting young people who improve the team”, explained the coach.
Milito also explained the reasons why he likes young people from the base, but did not mention any of them specifically.
“If they are young people that we have given the conditions and can add important things to the team, they will play. I like young people, their freshness, their desire for the world, their dream of being professional players, trained at the club. There are many things in favor of the young man if he plays well and is capable of playing for the first team”, added the coach, during a presentation at Arena MRV.
Debut at Atlético
Gabriel Milito will take his first steps at Atlético in the classic against Cruzeiro. The first match of the Campeonato Mineiro final is scheduled for this Saturday, at 4:30 pm, at Arena MRV.
