The plans of Botafogo for training center include Lonier and more spaces close to the site. In an interview with “GE”, the president Durcesio Mello told the ambitious ideas for a new CT.

– Yes, there is, land is being negotiated together with Lonier, which currently has three high-quality fields. The idea is to find another land to carry out this integration, where the under-20s would train in one place and the under-17s and under-15s would train in another. They have to be nearby land that we are negotiating, including one owned by City Hall, which is talking about lending it. This is extremely important for the future of the club. Otherwise Botafogo will always be the buyer. Even using the SAF model, there must be base revenue, trained players who will help win titles and be sold in the future. There is no way we can just acquire players – explained Durcesio.

The black and white president stated that the investments are being made by John Textorshareholder of SAF do Botafogo.

– This year John has already put in more than the shareholders’ agreement, he has already put in R$100 million and bought Luiz Henrique, he is exceeding. The same thing in the CT, money will be spent to build a high-level CT, with nine fields and every structure you can imagine, from physiology, physiotherapy, nutrition, restaurant. Everything is on its way, already delayed, but it is on its way. Soon we will have news of a new CT, who, together with Lonier, will build this structure. It’s from the Holding – he added.
