The Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station is investigating the case Lucas Tavares / Agência O Globo
In the early hours of this Sunday, a military police officer was killed, in Duque de Caxias, in Baixada Fluminense. Sub-lieutenant Evandro Pereira de Souza, 55 years old, was off duty when he was hit by shots fired at his car, on Rua Tejó, in the Jardim Olavo Bilac neighborhood.

According to the Military Police, to date, the authorship and motivation of the crime are unknown. Teams from the 15th BPM (Duque de Caxias) isolated the area and the Baixada Fluminense Homicide Police Station (DHBF) was called.
The Civil Police reported that the DHBF is investigating the soldier’s death and that efforts are underway to determine the authorship and motivation of the crime.
