Apucarana Handball and Volleyball debut with victories in competitions

The adult women’s handball and men’s volleyball teams from Apucarana debuted with victories this Sunday (24/03) in the Maringá Cup and the Regional Championship of the Liga Maringá, respectively. The teams, who will participate in other competitions throughout the season, played very well this weekend and easily beat their opponents.

Under the command of coach Beatriz Gonçalves Moreira Klava, the women’s handball team defeated the Marialva team by a score of 17 to 10. The match took place at the João de Barro Sports Gym, in Marialva. The team from Apucaran was represented by athletes Jéssica, Maricéia, Raquel, Sarina, Maria Luisa, Letícia, Stefany, Gabriela, Maria Eduarda, Talita, Kátia, Louise, Júlia, Juliane, Aline and Fernanda.

“It was a good debut, an important victory that gives the team a lot of morale for the rest of the competition. We thank the municipal management for the support we are receiving and we are confident that we will have a good campaign in the Maringá Cup”, said coach Beatriz.

The team from Apucaran is in Group “B” alongside Marialva, Uraí, Sarandi and Rolândia. The teams from Ourizona, Barbosa Ferraz, Astorga, Jussara and Universidade Estadual de Maringá (UEM) are part of Group “A”. The organization will announce the second round in the coming days.

Also this Sunday, at the opening of the Maringá Regional League Championship, at the Jardim Paulista gymnasium, the Apucarana men’s volleyball team beat Unicam, from Cambira, by 2 sets to 0, with splits of 25 x 22 and 25 x 16. The game was played in Group D, which also includes teams from Sarandi, Country Club “B” and Icons Vôlei.

The Apucarana team’s next opponent will be Country Club “B”, in a match that does not yet have a defined date.

In the victory in Maringá, Marcos Vinicius Caju, from Apucaran, was named the best player of the match. Under the technical command of Lucas Paparazzo, the team also included players Gui Sperandio, Paulinho, Gabriel Hirose, Alejandro, Hugo, Anderson, Matheus, Renan, Adal, Alexandre, Bruno and Andrey.
