What happened
The Legislative Police of the Chamber of Deputies opened an investigation and charged Felipe Neto with insult. In addition, the Parliamentary Prosecutor’s Office of the Chamber of Deputies will also take legal action against Felipe Neto in the Federal Court in a criminal action.
The decision came after Lira called the Legislative Police and asked for appropriate measures to be taken. The parliamentarian forwarded the letter to the police on Tuesday (23), the same day the influencer made the statement. When contacted by the reporter at the time, Lira’s press office informed that the deputy would not take a position on Felipe Neto’s speech.
In an official statement, Lira said that Felipe Neto “made insulting expressions” against her person. The document, obtained by UOL, indicates that the case could “constitute the practice of crimes against honor”, which occurred on the premises of the House. The letter was forwarded to Paul Pierre Deeter, director of the Legislative Police.
