Robson Gomes, Robinho, midfielder for Montes Claros América Vôlei, was discharged from Santa Casa de Montes Claros this Monday (25/3), after another hospitalization due to heart inflammation. The player made a post on social media thanking him for the support he received during the period in which he was away to recover from myocarditis.

“For this post, I would like to thank the board of directors of Montes Claros América Vôlei and the sponsors for all the support at all times when I needed it, from medications to hospitalizations and psychological support. I will always be grateful for not abandoning me and, yes, always willing to do their best to keep me psychologically well. Eternally grateful”

Robinho was hospitalized for the first time on January 1st of this year, after suffering a cardiac arrhythmia while at home. Admitted to Santa Casa de Montes Claros, he underwent procedures to normalize his heartbeat.

He was then diagnosed with myocarditis – inflammation of the heart muscle caused by an infectious process.

On February 16, the player underwent catheterization. An obstruction, which compromised 90% of the right coronary artery, was detected through tomography angiography.

“The obstruction is only in one artery, in the right coronary artery, an important obstruction, which could even be related to that electrical instability he had, ventricular tachycardia”, said doctor Rosane Cardoso, who accompanied him during the process.

“The causes are countless. He will be treated with medication, with anticoagulant, in an attempt to dissolve this thrombus. After a while, we will analyze and repeat the tests and check whether the case has been resolved,” he highlighted.

On February 23, Robinho had to return to the hospital to receive anticoagulant and dissolve the thrombus, in addition to undergoing a new catheterization. He was then discharged this Monday.
