Horses run away and leave injured in Central London

At least two horses were seen running in Central London. One of them appeared to be covered in blood.

According to the British press, all the animals have already been contained. They will be sent for veterinary treatment.

During the escape, the horses damaged vehicles and left at least four people injured. According to the British capital’s Ambulance Service, paramedics responded to three incidents within ten minutes. The information is from the BBC.

According to The Telegraph, the horses are part of a division of the British Army and were in training for the Horse Guards Parade, a ceremonial parade in the city. The newspaper also says that the white horse was injured when it hit the windshield of a Mercedes-Benz.

The suspicion is that the noise from construction near the stable caused the animals to get scared and run away, according to the BBC.

The English press also published photos of a van with a dented door outside a hotel on Buckingham Palace Road. One of the horses also crashed into the windshield of a bus that was parked on the street.

In a video released by the tabloid “Daily Mail”, it is possible to see that one of the animals almost runs over a cyclist.

On BBC London radio, a taxi driver says he was almost hit by the animals: “I was near Buckingham Palace, in [avenida] Mall, and I heard several gallops. I looked back and saw three or four horses. Two of them were running towards Trafalgar Square, one of them was white and covered in blood.”
