The ex-wife of businessman Luís Cláudio Lula da Silva, known as Lulinha, President Lula’s eldest son, filed a police report this Tuesday, 2, stating that she was a victim of domestic violence, including physical assault. “He elbowed me in the stomach in one of the fights at the end of January”, said doctor Natália Maria Schincariol in the record.

At the 6th Civil Police Station, in Cambuci, Natália also described verbal, psychological and moral attacks that ‘have intensified over time’, ‘putting at risk’ her physical and mental integrity.

In a statement, Lulinha’s defense pointed out that Natália’s statements were ‘fanciful’ and the alleged attacks were ‘untrue’. The defense also claimed that the doctor’s ‘lies’ could be construed as slander and that ‘the relevant legal measures’ will be taken.

The document listed some ‘episodes of violence’, indicating that the woman was ‘away from work for a month due to the trauma caused by the attacks’ and was ‘hospitalized with anxiety attacks’.

Natália also reported receiving constant threats and insults. Her husband would have called her ‘mentally ill, a slut, crazy’. She also claimed to be the target of defamation and slander. Regarding the physical aggression she attributed to the president’s son, Natália said she received an ‘elbow in the stomach’ when she refused to hand over her cell phone to her husband.

The police report also records that the businessman had ‘had unprotected sexual relations with other women, contracted an infection and knowingly exposed his ex to risk’.

Lulinha’s ex-wife also maintained that she was ‘manipulated and threatened not to report the attacks, under the allegation that the attacker is the president’s son and that he has the influence to escape the accusations’.
