President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) stated this Thursday (28) that the President of France, Emmanuel Macron, confirmed in recent days that Brazil’s commitment to the environment “is not rhetorical”.
The two made a statement to the press this afternoon, at Palácio do Planalto, in Brasília. Shortly before, they participated in a bilateral meeting and signed cooperation agreements between the two countries.
Earlier, Macron was received at an official ceremony in Brasília, an event that marks the last day of the French president’s visit to the country. In Brazil since Tuesday (26), he also visited Pará, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
Lula also awarded Macron the Grand Collar of the National Order of the Southern Cross, the highest Brazilian decoration awarded to foreign citizens.
