One of the Hensel family’s Siamese twins, 34-year-old Abby, is married! Although the ceremony took place in 2021, the fact was only discovered by the media this Wednesday (27), and generated repercussions on social media.

Sisters Abby and Brittany became famous between the late 1990s and early 2000s, when they appeared on the American talk show, “The Oprah Winfrey Show”. The duo even won their own reality show on TLC, titled “Brittany and Abby”.

The two graduated in pedagogy and currently work teaching fifth grade classes in the state of Minnesota, in the United States. They share the same body, that is, the same blood circulation and all the organs below the waist, as they are connected by the trunk. Abby controls the right side of her body, while Brittany controls the left.

According to the American portal Today, Abby married Josh Bowling, a nurse and veteran of the United States Army, in 2021. Photos of the ceremony were shared on the sisters’ social networks.

Desire to be mothers

In the documentary, “Joined for Life” (“Linked for life”, in literal translation), from 2003, the sisters explained that they want to be mothers. “Yes, we are going to be mothers. We haven’t thought about how being mothers will work yet, but we’re only 16. We don’t need to think about that right now,” said Brittany.

According to the twins’ mother, despite them sharing the same body, it is possible for them to have a child, as they have all healthy organs.
