FUNCEB ANNOUNCES INVESTMENT OF R$ 1 MI FOR BAHIA

The Cultural Foundation of the State of Bahia (FUNCEB) announced a contribution of R$ 1 million to strengthen Hip-Hop in Bahia over the next five years. The investment is part of the Aldir Blanc Law, passed on by the federal government.

The announcement was made by the director of FUNCEB, Sara Prado, on the afternoon of last Thursday, 2nd, during a meeting with representatives of the Bahia Hip-Hop Parliamentary GT, a working group linked to Hip-Hop National Construction, Bahia session, in addition of collectives, crews and initiatives that make up the various elements of the movement.

Sara Prado highlighted the importance of mobilizing and organizing the segment in recent times to guarantee this achievement.

“Hip-Hop in Bahia is a vibrant and transformative cultural force, which deserves all our recognition and support,” he stated. “This investment is just the beginning of a commitment that FUNCEB has with the future of Hip-Hop in the state.”

Well Santiago, one of the mobilizers of the Parliamentary GT, this is the moment to recognize the strength of the makers of Hip-Hop Culture throughout Bahia.

“We have been talking to the executive branch of the state government over the last year. Through this collective achievement, by allocating substantial resources to Hip-Hop in Bahia, FUNCEB recognizes not only the artistic value of this form of expression, but also its vital role in building identity, promoting racial reparation, and social inclusion. and in expanding cultural dialogue in Bahia.

On that occasion, the meeting also resulted in the creation of a temporary Working Group to discuss the criteria for distributing the resource in the notice. FUNCEB has until May 11th to send the results of these discussions to the Ministry of Culture, with the aim of launching and executing the first edition of the notice later this year.
