For Brazilian citizens planning to vote in the 2024 elections, it is essential to ensure that your polling location is updated according to your current address.

Those who have changed cities or who remain in the same city, but are far from their initial voting location, have until next Wednesday, the 8th, to carry out this update. Regularization of the voter registration card is a prerequisite for this change.

For voters who have changed municipalities, updating their electoral domicile can be done online, as long as they have resided in the new location for at least three months and have issued their first voter registration card more than a year ago.

This online service is restricted to voters who have already completed biometric registration. The procedure begins on the Superior Electoral Court (TSE), when accessing Electoral Services, followed by Electoral Self-Service. Then, simply click on Electoral Title, where you must choose the option to update or correct the electoral title.

Is it easy to change your polling location?

For changes of address within the same municipality or changing the voting location to a closer location, the process is the same. However, voters who do not have a biometric registration must go to the electoral office closest to their new address to make the change in person.

It is also possible to simply change the voting location within the same municipality and electoral zone, without the need to update the complete address. Simply access the TSE website and select the specific option for this purpose.

Can Brazilians abroad change their electoral domicile?

This group must send the necessary documents to the Brazilian embassy or consular office of their new domicile to request the transfer of electoral zone.

Those who are already registered in an electoral zone abroad, but have changed countries, need to request a transfer.

It is important to highlight that voters registered in the electoral zone abroad are not obliged to vote in the 2024 Elections, except in general elections for the Presidency of the Republic, when voting in transit is allowed.
