Aiming to promote road safety, the Inspection team of the State Department of Traffic of Amazonas (Detran-AM) carried out, this Wednesday (01/05), operations in strategic points in the capital and Metropolitan Region. During the action, 147 drivers were charged and 22 motorcycles were removed.

Among the main infractions committed by drivers are: driving a vehicle without having a National Driving License (CNH), not using mandatory safety equipment, driving a motorcycle, scooter and moped without a rear-view mirror and driving a motorcycle with free exhaust.

According to the CEO of Detran Amazonas, Wendell Waughan, the institution is on the streets every day, carrying out its duty and fulfilling its role of ensuring that traffic within the State is safe for everyone.

“Our biggest and main focus is to ensure the safety of drivers, passengers and pedestrians and that we have a safe road for everyone to get to and from. Detran Amazonas will continue to reinforce preventive measures and fulfill its duty every day so that we have smooth traffic”, he stated.

The general coordinator of Inspection at Detran-AM, Arthur Cruz, states that the force was present in all areas of the city of Manaus. “We were in several areas of Manaus with full force to prevent any practices that could compromise road safety,” he said.
