The measure follows the guidelines of the Public Governance Policy of the Government of Tocantins

The State Comptroller General (CGE/TO) published the agency’s Strategic Planning for the four-year period 2024-2027. The Ordinance appears in the Official State Gazette on April 19th, and presents the institutional identity of CGE/TO and the Strategic Map.

The initiative follows the guidelines of the Public Governance Policy of the Government of Tocantins and seeks to update the Controllership’s strategic planning, covering the macro areas of internal control that currently form part of the department, namely, Audit, Correction, Social Control and Assessment of Government Management .

“The approved Strategic Map is the result of the efforts of the entire team, carried out after a diagnosis taking into account the positive points and needs of the institution, to build consistent and feasible management instruments. The results obtained will serve to guide the agency’s actions, aligned with the principles of integrity and transparency of the State Administration”, highlighted the chief secretary of the CGE, José Humberto Muniz Filho.

The work was conducted by the Committee responsible for preparing and reviewing the Controllership’s Institutional Strategic Planning (PEI). According to public manager and member of the Commission Tiago Bandeira de Castro, Strategic Planning serves the purpose of helping the body achieve its strategic objectives.

“Through Institutional Strategic Planning, the body assumes a public commitment to the objectives to be achieved, the guiding values of organic actions, the strategic projects to be executed and their respective goals, strengthening good governance practices, transparency and social control.” , highlighted the public manager.

Methodology

The work was developed based on the Balanced ScoreCard (BSC), a planning methodology, in a participatory manner, with the holding of several meetings and the application of situational questionnaires that involved all the agency’s employees. “Reports were created consolidating the information obtained in the diagnosis phase into a Swot matrix that highlighted the strengths, weaknesses, threats and opportunities of CGE/TO, providing a review of the objectives and strategic references (mission, vision and values), added Tiago Bandeira.

“Tocantins already has a culture of planning and CGE/TO seeks to improve its services through this continuous work. This is the body’s second strategic planning cycle, now for the periods 2024-2027 and will reinforce strategic actions and objectives by implementing advances in the adoption of international IA-CM auditing standards, an Internal Audit capacity model to be followed”, stated the coordinator of the Preparation Committee, Laiany Alves.

For the next steps, the coordinator explains that the team is working on formulating projects and actions that will guide the achievement of strategic objectives and, consequently, the fulfillment of the Institution’s Mission and Vision.
