Santa Catarina is the state that received the least visits from ministers in the South during the Lula government

Santa Catarina is the state in the South region that received the least visits from ministers during the Lula government, according to a survey by Ficam Sabendo, a data agency specialized in access to public information. From January 1, 2023, to April 12 of this year, only 14 members of the first level completed their schedule in the state.

In total, according to the survey, 1,660 ministerial trips were made during the Lula government. Of all these visits, only 20 had Santa Catarina in the itinerary, 18 in 2023 and two this year.

Compared to other states in the South region, the state had less than a third, and less than half, of visits compared to Rio Grande do Sul and Paraná, respectively.

The result also reveals a concentration of visits in the capitals, mainly São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro – which together correspond to 30% of registrations of unique destinations.

According to the survey, the Minister of Agrarian Development and Family Farming, Paulo Teixeira (PT), was the one who traveled the most during the Lula government – ​​there were 82 daily requests -, followed by Nísia Trindade, from Health (73), and Camilo Santana (PT), from Education (67).

However, Santa Catarina was not on the list of ministers who visited the most states, as Paulo Teixeira was only in Chapecó once, in July 2023. Here, Waldez Góes, from Regional Integration and Development, and Carlos Lupi, from Social Security, are in the lead. , both with two trips each.

Lula demands ministers to travel more

In March of this year, President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva asked ministers, during a meeting, to travel more and publicize the government’s achievements. At the time, Lula asked that the municipal elections be left in the background so as not to “contaminate the government’s agenda”.
