Wilson Seneme, president of the CBF arbitration committee, admitted the VAR’s error in the 1-1 draw between RB Bragantino and Flamengo, in the fifth round of the Brasileirão.

The error pointed out by Seneme was that the VAR did not review a possible penalty on Luiz Araújo, from Flamengo. For the entity’s head of arbitration, there were enough elements for the video referee to recommend a review of the bid. However, he avoided fouling the shot.

“It was difficult to analyze the move (through the image) like the previous one. Why not call it?. The CBF receives the images from the official broadcast of the event. The protocol does not provide for specific cameras for the video referee. “I see a player not looking at the ball and looking at an attacker. If the arm was enough to knock him down, I would have to see it on camera”, added Seneme.

The move generated outrage not only from coach Tite, but also from Flamengo’s board, who complained emphatically about the arbitration at Nabizão. Paulo Cesar Zanovelli da Silva was the referee on the field, and Daniel Nobre Bins was in the VAR booth.
