Former light heavyweight champion (up to 93kg), Jan Blachowicz has not yet digested the defeat suffered by Alex Poatan in July 2023. In an interview with the channel ‘Fanatics View’, the Polish veteran assured that the current owner of the belt is not a better fighter than him, he once again complained about the result of the UFC 290 and demanded a rematch against the new world MMA star.

“Alex is not a better fighter than me and I believe I deserve the rematch. When he fought me, I believe I won that fight. The judges saw a different result, but I believe I won this fight against him and I believe I deserve the rematch. Alex knocked out everyone but me. When I come back, I believe I can fight him one more time,” said Blachowicz.

Poatan and Blachowicz faced each other in the UFC 290, held in July 2023. The duel marked the Brazilian’s debut in the light heavyweight division. After 15 minutes of a balanced confrontation, the Glover Teixeira was declared victorious in a controversial split decision by the judges.

After the defeat to Poatan, Blachowicz would face Serbian Aleksandad Rakic last January, however, the Pole suffered an injury and had to be removed from the fight. The former light heavyweight champion still does not have a new date or rival defined for his return to the Octagon.
