Stations located in the interior of Bahia had five tanks and 13 fuel nozzles closed by the Posto Legal operation. In the case of tanks, the ban was motivated by the sale of diesel oil with substandard biodiesel content and ethanol with a low alcohol content, both outside the specificities established by legislation.

The other closures occurred because the stations had damaged digit and nozzle segments at the fuel metering pumps, among other irregularities.

The closures were carried out by the new stage of Posto Legal, which ended this Friday (26). The municipalities targeted in this stage were Feira de Santana, Conceição do Jacuípe, Amélia Rodrigues, Irará, Ipirá, São Gonçalo dos Campos, Muritiba, Governador Mangabeira, Serrinha, Serra Preta, Santa Bárbara and Lamarão. In total, 43 establishments were inspected.

The deputy head of the National Petroleum Agency (ANP) office in Salvador, Vanjoaldo Lopes, explains that stations can only resell B diesel oil with a defined proportion of 86% diesel and 14% biodiesel. “Currently, there may be a variation in the biodiesel content of 13.5% to 15.5%. In this case, as the determination of the biodiesel content can only be carried out in the laboratory, we collected three samples, one from each tank at the same station , and we took them to the ANP laboratory in Bahia. The results detected non-compliant biodiesel levels: 10.6%, 10.5% and 5.5%, which resulted in fines and bans.”

In the assessments and interdictions of the two ethanol tanks, the assessments were detected by field tests, carried out by ANP inspectors. These actions removed 53,500 liters of diesel oil and 10,500 liters of ethanol from the market, both in non-compliance with current legislation. These amounts must be reprocessed or destroyed, in a way that complies with environmental legislation.

Ibametro banned four pumps due to the use of a damaged digit segment and also identified, at the inspected stations, irregularities such as the absence and discrepancy of mandatory inscriptions, irregular electrical installation, damaged hose and dial protector, absence of safety valve, lower supply speed of the minimum allowed, damaged supply nozzle, lack of numbering on the nozzles and predetermination keyboard not working.
