23rd Santa Catarina State Honey Fair returns to the Center of Florianópolis

The long-awaited 23rd edition of the Santa Catarina State Honey Fair is scheduled to take place from the 8th to the 11th of May, in the heart of the Center of Florianópolis, as announced by the Santa Catarina State Department of Agriculture and Fisheries. This initiative aims to strengthen ties between producers and consumers, offering a variety of products with regional characteristics at affordable prices. As part of the tradition, honey will be sold at fixed prices during the event.
One of the main objectives of the fair is to facilitate the inclusion of small family producers in the market, in addition to promoting and publicizing Santa Catarina bee products. The location chosen to host the event again will be Largo da Alfândega, and opening hours will be from 8am to 7pm from Wednesday to Friday, and from 8am to 12pm on Saturday.
The Fair is a joint event between Faasc, Epagri, the State Department of Agriculture and Livestock and the Municipality of Florianópolis, with the support of Sebrae/SC, Faesc/Senar/SC, UFSC, CIDASC and the Legislative Assembly of Santa Catarina. The joint effort of these institutions has consolidated Santa Catarina as a highlight in bee farming, with Santa Catarina honey already recognized as the best in the world on six occasions by the Apimondia congress.
More than 200 producers from all regions of the state will be present with their honey and derivatives, occupying 26 stands. Nine of these stands will be dedicated to groups of producers who have packaging and processing units for bee products, presenting more than 30 brands of honey and derivatives to the public during the four days of the fair.
