More than 130 soybean producers have positive projections for the 2024 harvest

A survey by the Secretariat of Agriculture, Development and Innovation (Seadi) showed that 139 soybean producers have a positive projection for the 2024 harvest in Roraima. With the rains in the state, grain producers in general are confident in the abundance of the harvest.

The survey was carried out with 200 soybean producers and another 61 indicated that they kept the area unchanged for planting intentions. According to Seadi, the prospect of expansion in the soybean planted area, the strengthening of agribusiness and the regional economy and the potential of the crop.

“The arrival of winter in Roraima not only represents the end of the drought, but also paves the way for a promising and rewarding harvest season. It is a moment of celebration for the entire community, which highlights the vital importance of agriculture in promoting the well-being and prosperity of their families and the region as a whole”, reinforced producer Lúcia Costa.

After the intense drought in Roraima, April brought the first rains of winter to help with water storage in the soil. This is essential for local agriculture, especially for producers of grains such as corn, soybeans, rice and beans.

“With regular rains and more favorable weather, farmers have the opportunity to plant and harvest their crops with greater safety and efficiency. This not only guarantees the livelihood of families that depend on agriculture, but also contributes significantly to food security and sustainability in the region”, said Marcio Granjeiro, secretary of the ministry.

As a way of guiding and facilitating production planning in Roraima, Seadi developed the agricultural calendar. The calendar allows producers to plan their activities throughout the year, from beginning to harvest, taking into account crop growth cycles and ideal climatic conditions for each regional stage.

In addition, optimizing the use of resources such as labor, seeds, fertilizers and equipment, distributing them efficiently according to the needs of each crop and growth stage.
