Action by the Alagoas and Sergipe police results in the arrest of a person convicted of a crime in Penedo

An element, whose name was not revealed, was arrested this Tuesday, April 23, in the municipality of Lagarto, in Sergipe, in compliance with an arrest warrant resulting from a conviction issued by the 4th Criminal Court of the district of Penedo, in the Lower São Francisco of Alagoas.

According to police information, on July 20, 2021, three “clean-faced” criminals, armed, invaded a grocery store located in the center of Penedo, claimed four victims, three of whom were customers and the person responsible for the establishment, and announced a robbery .

On that occasion, the criminals attacked the victims and managed to steal several valuable objects, such as cell phones, products that were for sale at the location and sums of money, which together exceeded the amount of R$5,000.00 (five thousand reais). The elements then fled in a silver Peugeot/207 vehicle.

Thanks to a major operation at the time, the elements were arrested and the stolen objects were recovered. However, shortly afterwards, the courts granted freedom to the trio, who returned to criminal activity. After that, the accused arrested this Tuesday, 23rd, was arrested in Sergipe for drug trafficking and other thefts, remaining behind bars for two years.

The arrest of the man already sentenced to 26 years and 8 months in prison, for committing robberies and criminal association, was carried out by civil police officers from the Special Investigation Center (NIESP) of the General Civil Police Station, coordinated by delegate Sidney Tenório, with the support from civil police officers from the Lagarto/SE Regional Police Station and the Intelligence Sector of the Electronic Prisoner Monitoring Center (CEMEP) in Sergipe.

“We had been monitoring the steps of this fugitive for a few days and, in a quick capture action, we managed to locate and arrest the individual, who was taken directly to the state of Alagoas, being presented on the night of this Tuesday, 23rd, at the Regional Police Station of Penedo”, declared Sidney Tenório.

The delegate also declared that the captured man, despite his young age, now 21 years old, is considered highly dangerous, mainly due to his involvement in several violent crimes using firearms, committed both in the state of Sergipe and in Alagoas.

Of the 03 convicted by the Alagoas Court for this robbery carried out in Penedo, two are now in prison (01 in Sergipe and the other in Alagoas) and 01 remains at large.
