Lucinha is cited and has 10 days to present her defense to the Alerj Ethics Council, suspected of having links with the Zinho militia | Rio de Janeiro

State deputy Lucinha (PSD) was cited this Friday (3) by the Ethics Council of the Legislative Assembly of Rio (Alerj) to present a written defense in the process that could lead to the impeachment of the parliamentarian, suspected of having links with the militia.

The deadline, according to the Ethics Council, starts on the 6th and ends on the 15th. The House also received a document from the Federal Police informing that the parliamentarian was indicted.

Alerj received the letter from the PF with the conclusion of the investigations last Thursday (25).

According to investigations, Lucinha was called godmother by members of the criminal group. The deputy was appointed as the political arm of Zinho’s gang. She denies any involvement with the paramilitary group.

Among the facts discovered, there are exchanges of messages and audios in which Lucinha tries, together with Rio City Hall, to benefit the interests of militia members, such as in the alternative transport that operates in the West Zone. Service in the region is one of the main businesses of Zinho’s militia.

Mayor Eduardo Paes (PSD) and Colonel Silvio Luiz da Silva were heard at the investigation, as witnesses. The statements were important for the conclusion of the investigation.

The PF report is with the Attorney General of the Public Ministry, Luciano Mattos. It is now up to him to decide whether to file a complaint against Congresswoman Lucinha.

On Thursday (26), the president of the Alerj Ethics Council, deputy Júlio Rocha (Agir), received the document from the PF. The accusation could lead to the parliamentarian’s impeachment. The document indicting Lucinha began to be processed at the Ethics Council on Friday (27).

The investigation at Alerj advances almost three months after the House plenary decided to keep Lucinha in office. On that occasion, the deputies also decided to initiate an investigation at the Ethics Council.

During this period, two rapporteurs were already in charge of the committee’s work. The current rapporteur is deputy Vinícius Cozollino.

In addition to him, the commission is formed by deputy Júlio Rocha, in the presidency, and the deputies: Martha Rocha, Jorge Felipe Neto, Dani Monteiro, Renato Miranda and Cláudio Caiado.

The commission has until Friday (3) to inform the deputy about the process. From communication, she has 10 days to present a written defense. The commission should only meet from May 20th to start discussing the future of deputy Lucinha.
