Devotees of Santa Teresinha do Menino Jesus are eagerly awaiting the visit of the Relics of the Patron Saint of the Missions to the state of Sergipe, which should arrive on May 26th. In addition to Aracaju, the cities of Carmópolis and Propriá will be visited by the urn containing part of the saint’s body.
The Relics of the Saint of Little Via and Doctor of the Church will be received at 10 am on the 26th, in Propriá, more precisely at Carmelo Imaculada Conceição, where they will remain until 11 am. Before arriving in Aracaju, the Relics will be displayed at the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo, in Carmópolis.
In the capital of Sergipe, the urn will be received at 2 pm, at the Convent of the Congregation of Santa Teresinha (Colina de Santo Antônio), and at 3 pm, at the parish church of Nossa Senhora do Carmo e Santa Teresinha (Bairro Suíssa). There, there will be four masses and blessing of the roses: 3pm, 5pm, 7pm and 10pm.
Aracaju, Propriá and Carmópolis are on the list of 70 Brazilian cities chosen to receive the visit of the Relics of Saint Therese of the Child Jesus, this year. The pilgrimage began in 1997, the centenary year of the saint’s death, and has already traveled to around 70 countries. This is the third visit to Brazil.
