Urban public transport workers in Maceió and intermunicipal transport in Alagoas rejected the counter-proposal of a 6% salary increase presented by the bus companies and maintained the request for 7.5%.
The decision was taken at a general meeting this Monday (22). The outbreak of a strike is not ruled out. The category’s claim is 7.5%, which can be divided into two installments, and 7.5% on the food ticket, immediately.
According to the Alagoas Road Workers Union (Sinttro-AL), the request is justified by the immediately readjusted inflationary correction (4.5%) and the real gain in September (3%).
In addition to salary recovery, road workers are asking for a 30-minute break during the journey to be regulated, the driver to remain on the same work schedule for at least 30 days, and a 40% advance on salary until the 20th of each month. .
For the entity’s president, Sandro Reges, the measures taken by the union always aim for the best for workers and are within the local budgetary reality.
“Our board, in constant dialogue with the base, always finds a positive alternative for road workers. There is no point in defending a proposal that is out of reality. Our proposals are always viable, which is why we have accumulated so many victories over the last few years,” he explains.
