The 2023 performance of the Rio Grande do Sul development agency was presented this Wednesday morning (3/4) by the president of Badesul, Claudio Gastal, to the head of the Secretariat of Economic Development (Sedec), Ernani Polo. Last year closed with R$116.3 million in net profit, 132% above the value recorded in 2022. During the meeting held in the ministry’s office, topics such as available financing lines, active operations and planning were also discussed strategic 2024-2028 of the institution.

The survey showed the total investment in each sector made last year. The sum reached the volume of R$ 182.6 million allocated to 33 municipalities in Rio Grande do Sul; R$235.4 million for agribusiness; R$68.7 million for innovative projects; and R$18.3 million for micro and small companies. Furthermore, R$55 million was invested in startups.

The head of Sedec emphasized that the State government supports strategies that generate employment and income. “We need the population to be aware of low-cost financial solutions, which aim to finance ventures that result in development. We are working, together with Badesul, to showcase these resources and apply them in the State”, highlighted Polo.

“With a balance of active operations in its portfolio of R$2.21 billion, Badesul is a consolidated financial institution ready to boost the State’s economic growth, offering credit to entrepreneurship and innovation and contributing to improvements in the urban infrastructure of municipalities ”, reinforced Gastal. “At this moment, we are putting into practice our Strategic Planning 2024-2028, prepared in partnership with the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio Grande do Sul. Our objective is to implement actions that bring us ever closer to those who need financial incentives to carry out good projects in the public and private areas.”

The directors of Badesul’s Public Sector and Legal Department, Kalil Sehbe Neto and Maurício Dziedricki, respectively, were also present on the occasion.
