Raise awareness and alert the population about road safety and, thus, reduce traffic accidents in Alagoas. This is the focus of the Yellow May campaign, which will be promoted by the State Department of Traffic of Alagoas (Detran) throughout the month with educational actions guiding children, young people and adults, in search of increasingly safer traffic.

The 2nd Yellow May Race already has a date and place to take place: May 26th, on the edge of Ponta Verde beach, in Maceió, starting at Marco dos Corais. With a 5 km and 10 km route, the event for 2,000 people is free and registration will open in the next few days.

In addition, there will be participation medals for all athletes who complete the race and awards with trophies for 1st to 5th place for the general classification. Information about registrations will be published on the website (www.detran.al.gov.br) and on Detran’s social networks, accessing the profile @detranalagoas.

The official opening of Yellow May in Alagoas will take place during the II National Road Safety Education Seminar, held by Detran on May 9th and 10th, at the Jaraguá Innovation Center. Registration is free and can be done via this link.

During Yellow May, urban interventions will also be carried out, such as Yellow May ribbons spread across cities in Alagoas, as well as traffic education in schools in the capital and interior of the state and arenas with interactive games for children and adults.
