With Madonna’s show at Copacabana Beach approaching while Rio de Janeiro faces yet another non-summer heat wave, it’s impossible not to remember Taylor Swift’s show, in November last year, at Engenhão. At the time, fan Ana Clara Benevides, aged 23, died during the performance, a victim of thermal exhaustion. One of the three shows was canceled due to high temperatures.

According to Climatempo meteorologists on Saturday (4), the day of Madonna’s show, the temperature could reach 36 degrees, with lots of sun in the city. The minimum temperature should be 23 degrees and it shouldn’t rain.

The relative humidity of the air must be low, around 20% – the level during which meteorologists and doctors recommend special care with hydration.

So if you’re among the 1.5 million people expected on Copacabana Beach, don’t forget to drink lots of water.
It will be prohibited to enter the neighborhood with bottles and glass containers, but plastic containers are permitted.
