Court maintains arrest of mother and son captured in MS for execution in Mato Grosso

Jocilene Barreiro da Silva, 60 years old, and Vanderley Barreiro da Silva, 31 years old, had their arrest converted into preventative arrest this Wednesday (03) at the Campo Grande Forum. Mother and son were named by the police as those responsible for the murder of Gersino Rosa dos Santos, alias “Nenê”, aged 43. The crime took place in November last year, at Shopping Popular de Cuiabá.

In addition to Gersino, Cleyton de Oliveira De Souza Paulino, 27, was also killed by an accidental shooting. The gunman, Silvio Junior Peixoto, 26, was arrested about a month ago, in Uberlândia (MG).

Since the time of the crime, Jocilene and Vanderley had been on the run, but were arrested yesterday afternoon (02) by police officers from Garras (Specialized Police Station for the Suppression of Bank Robbery, Assault and Kidnapping) of Mato Grosso do Sul.

During the execution of an arrest warrant at Vanderley’s home, four firearms were found, one of which was in the shape of a pen. In addition, the police find cell phones and ammunition. During his testimony, the suspect said he acquired the weapons by exchanging vehicles.

The decision to maintain their arrest was signed by judge Jorge Tadashi Kuramoto. The magistrate also ordered that the two prisoners be transferred to Cuiabá urgently.
