Former President of the United States Donald Trump was fined again this Tuesday (30) for failing to comply with a court ban that prevented him from making public statements about witnesses and jurors in the ongoing trial against him, which resumed this Tuesday.

Judge Juan Merchan, who imposed the fine, also stated that will arrest the former president if he fails to comply with the measure again.

Merchan fined Trump in US$9 thousand (about R$46.5 thousand) for disobeying the silence order.

In the session, the Prosecutors in the case alleged that the former president failed to comply with the order ten times. The judge found that there was a violation of the order in nine cases. But he also scored a hearing for Thursday (2) to analyze four more alleged violations.

Upon receiving the fine sentence from the judge, The former president looked at the table in front of him as Merchan read the decision, frowning slightly but showing no expression.

Donald Trump’s trial — the first of four trials to which he faces — was resumed this Tuesday as third witness testimony prosecutor Gary Farro, a banker who helped Trump’s former lawyer, Michael Cohen, open accounts.

Cohen used one of the accounts to buy porn actress Stormy Daniels’ silence, according to Farro.

The case is the first criminal trial of a former US president and the first of four cases against Trump to reach a jury.

Daniels claimed to have had a sexual encounter with Trump in 2006, which the former president denies.

In the first week of testimony, Manhattan prosecutors retracted what they say was an illegal scheme to influence the 2016 presidential campaign.

The accusations center on payments of US$130,000 (R$672,000) that Trump’s company made to Cohen. You prosecutors say Trump obscured the true nature of these payments and falsely recorded them as legal expenses.

He has pleaded not guilty to 34 felony counts of falsifying business records. Trump, who is already campaigning for elections, was forced to appear in court during the sessions.
