Mother and daughter are pulled out of an app car in Volta Redonda

Security cameras recorded the moment when two passengers, mother and daughter, were attacked by an app driver after a disagreement during a race in Volta Redonda, in the interior of the state of Rio, on Sunday (31).

The images show the driver disembarking from the vehicle, forcibly removing Taiene Priscila de Oliveira Paula, 37, and her 5-year-old daughter, and dragging them both by their arms. Afterwards, he runs away and leaves the two on the street.

“He grabbed my arm, my daughter’s arm, to get us out of the car, to get us out of the car. Then, as we fell to the ground, he dragged me onto the asphalt. He took [a gente] from inside the car, then we fell to the ground and he dragged us both across the asphalt so that we could get away from the car, because I fell very close to his car”, said Taiene.

The driver will be summoned to give a statement about the case. The police are looking for him and are waiting for him at the Women’s Assistance Police Station (Deam).

In testimony, Taiene said that, during the journey, her sister had made a scheduled stop in neighborhood 249 so that her friend could be dropped off at home.

According to the police report, Taiene’s sister asked the driver to go to another street, so that her friend could be left in front of the house, but he refused with the justification that he could not change the route determined by the driver. GPS.

Still according to the police report, unsatisfied with the response, the driver stopped the car on 238th Street, near a bar, and ordered everyone to get out. Only Taiene’s sister and nephew managed to get out of the vehicle.

“I couldn’t get out, because I was trying to calm my daughter in his car (…) And then he got in the car again and took off. We walked away [dentro do carro] from the bar to a certain point on Rua 2, with the two back doors open. And he was at high speed”, said Taiene.

The driver took off with the car and only stopped about 600 m away, on Rua 2, when mother and daughter were forcibly removed from the vehicle.

The two were injured and were taken to the Dr. Nelson Gonçalves Hospital (formerly Cais do Aterrado). They received care and have now been discharged.
