The distributor responsible for energy supply in Alagoas, Equatorial Alagoas, is actively working to raise awareness among the population about the importance of registering for the Social Tariff. According to Equatorial’s Customer Relationship Manager, Luciana Carmo, it is essential that families who have a Social Identification Number (NIS) look for the nearest Social Assistance Reference Centers (CRAS) to update their registration and guarantee the benefit. .
The company emphasizes that the NIS registration must be updated every two years, to ensure the continuity of the discount on the electricity bill. Furthermore, Carmo emphasizes that the benefit can be requested even if the customer is not the holder of the energy account, as long as they link the NIS to the property in which they live.
Equatorial also released a ranking of the municipalities in Alagoas with the greatest potential for TSEE beneficiaries. Maceió tops the list, followed by Arapiraca, Penedo, Rio Largo, Palmeira dos Índios and Santana do Ipanema. The distributor highlights that the objective is to register as many low-income units as possible, aiming not only for the individual benefit of families, but also for a positive impact on the local economy.
To access the benefit, it is necessary to meet some requirements stipulated by Aneel, such as being registered with CadÚnico with a family income of up to half the minimum wage per person. Registration can be carried out by phone, WhatsApp, the distributor’s website or in person at service agencies.
Faced with this reality, Equatorial Alagoas remains committed to raising awareness and assisting the population in registering for the Social Tariff, seeking to ensure that more families have access to this important benefit.
