A Brazilian skydiver died after colliding with another professional during a jump in the United States. Giulianno Scottti, 42 years old, was born in Manaus, Amazonas. The accident happened on Monday (1st), in Florida.
According to the DeLand Police Department, the city where the accident occurred, preliminary investigations indicate that the two professionals collided in the air around 2 pm (local time). The Brazilian’s body was located in a block of an avenue in the city.
According to the note issued by the police, rescue teams tried to save Giulianno, but he was declared dead in the place where he was found. The second parachutist was rescued and, according to the agents, only had minor injuries.
“The victim’s body has been turned over to the Volusia County Medical Examiner’s Office, who will perform an autopsy to determine the cause of death,” the statement reads.
There is still no information whether the Brazilian’s body will be brought to Manaus.
On social media, Giulianno’s admirers mourned his death. Many commented on the professional’s last post, made in December last year.
“Rest in peace. From Ohio (USA), praying for your family,” said Noreen Porter.
“Rest in paradise. In prayer for your family and friends,” wrote Jessica Billings, who followed the Amazonian’s social media.
Giulianno used social media to show some of his adventures in the air. In several posts, the Amazonian appears parachuting in various places around the world.
On December 19th of last year, he posted a flight over the Rio Negro, in Amazonas. In November 2022, he is said to have moved to Grand Canyon National Park in Arizona.
In July 2021, the parachutist said he suffered a minor back injury, which prevented him from participating in the 2020 Mondial, which took place in Russia.
