After starting to distribute the Gemini app for Android, Google officially launched the platform in Brazil. Gemini app in Brazil

The launch takes place a few days after the Canaltech revealed, exclusively, that Gemini was now available for download in Brazil. At the time, Google confirmed the news, but reported that the distribution was gradual.

Now, the application has wider access across the country. In a statement, the company said that Gemini can be downloaded directly from the Play Store, with the option to replace Google Assistant with the new chatbot.

“Google Assistant voice features will also be available through the app, including options to set timers, make calls, and control smart home devices,” the company announced.

This adjustment, it should be noted, is optional and can be reversed in the settings. This way, you can keep using Google Assistant if you are not yet interested in using Gemini on a daily basis.

Integrations

Another new feature revolves around integrations between Gemini and other company services, such as Gmail and YouTube. This means that it is possible to use these tools within the chatbot, to make requests or help with planning a trip.

Gemini also landed on Chrome. Through the address bar, you can type “@gemini” along with the desired command to go directly to the chatbot. This shortcut speeds up access to answers, as it avoids the need to open the website just to request something.

“In the coming weeks, iOS users will be able to access Gemini directly from the Google app,” the company announced.
