Video: Heavy rain floods Avenida Prudente de Morais and other streets in BH

On Tuesday afternoon (2), BHtrans closed the intersection between Avenida Prudente de Morais and Rua Joaquim Murtinho, in the Santo Antônio neighborhood, in the Center-South region of BH, due to the risk of flooding.

Videos show the junction between Rua Joaquim Murtinho and Avenida Prudente de Morais completely flooded, with garbage bags floating in the water.

The intersection between Rua Joaquim Murtinho and Rua Marquês de Maricá was also closed due to flooding.

Civil Defense requested the deployment of BH-Trans teams to monitor the location.

The Central-South region of Belo Horizonte recorded extremely heavy rain this Tuesday afternoon (2), according to Civil Defense. The estimated volume is above 5 mm.

Avenida Prudente de Morais, in the Central-South Region of BH, has historically faced problems with flooding when the city is hit by heavy rain.
