A helicopter made an emergency forced landing, this Tuesday morning (2), at Arnaud Marinho Municipal Airport, in Pará de Minas, in the Center-West of Minas Gerais.
According to the Fire Department, so far, the information is that there were no victims or fires. A rescue unit is on the way.
The helicopter belonged to the EFAI civil aviation school, based in Contagem, in the metropolitan region of Belo Horizonte. A Itatiaia, the company confirmed the accident and said that there were four people on the aircraft at the time of the crash, but that no one was injured. The school also said it will release more details about what happened in the coming hours.
Investigators from the Aeronautical Accident Investigation and Prevention Center (CENIPA) were called to investigate the causes of the accident.
In a note, the agency informed that agents from the Third Regional Service for the Investigation and Prevention of Aeronautical Accidents (SERIPA III), a regional agency of Cenipa, located in Rio de Janeiro (RJ), will carry out the initial action in the incident.
“In the Initial Action, specific techniques are used, conducted by qualified and accredited personnel who carry out the collection and confirmation of data, the preservation of elements, the initial verification of damage caused to the aircraft, or by the aircraft, and the collection of other necessary information to the investigation”, explained the agency.
Cenipa also informs that “the conclusion of the investigation will take as short a time as possible, always depending on the complexity of the occurrence and, also, the need to discover possible contributing factors”.
The report from Itatiaia has also contacted the Civil Police of Minas Gerais and the city hall and is awaiting their position.
