The week begins with a forecast of heavy rain reserved for the North, Northeast and part of the Central-West of Brazil. The strong heat, high humidity and the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) continue to act in combination and cause the predicted instabilities in these regions.

For this Tuesday (2/4), an orange alert issued by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet) indicates heavy rain in the Northeast. The most affected areas are the center-south and northwest of Ceará, southeast and center-north of Piauí, center and west of Rio Grande do Norte, in addition to the hinterland of Ceará, Paraíba and Pernambuco. Volumes can reach 100 millimeters in these regions, in addition to strong wind gusts of up to 100 km/h, indicates the institute.

Still in the Northeast, the tendency is for the south of Bahia to have isolated rain showers in smaller accumulations.

In the North, Inmet predicts rain showers throughout the week with amounts exceeding 80 millimeters in practically the entire region. It should rain more in Amazonas, Pará, Roraima, Rondônia and Tocantins, and the rains will be accompanied by lightning, gusts of wind and thunderstorms. In other states, the rains should be milder, but it will still rain.

In the Central-West region, rain will be more regular in Mato Grosso, where the total rainfall may exceed 80 millimeters. In Mato Grosso do Sul and Goiás, the rain will be irregular with a total of around 40 millimeters.

In the Southeast, the week will be hot and dry, mainly in Rio de Janeiro, Zona da Mata Mineira and the north coast of São Paulo. The rains over the next few days will be isolated and weak. According to Inmet, significant rain is only forecast at the end of the week in the northeast of Minas Gerais.

In the South, the week begins with a storm in the center-south of Rio Grande do Sul, accompanied by lightning, gusts of wind, thunderstorms and possible hail. In the northern half of Rio Grande do Sul, in addition to the southern coast of Santa Catarina, the rains will also be heavy this Tuesday. Paraná will have lighter rain throughout the week.
