Mauro: “Mato Grosso has consolidated itself as one of the fastest growing states in the country”

Mato Grosso’s economy in 2023 grew 10.6%, that is, three times more than Brazil (2.9%). This is what the Banco do Brasil Regional Review report, released this month, points out.

The Banco do Brasil report pointed out, based on monitoring state economic indicators, that the state’s good performance was mainly driven by agricultural production, which increased the state’s agricultural GDP by 23.4% last year.

Mato Grosso reached a record grain harvest in 2023, with more than 45.3 million tons of soybeans in the 2022/2023 harvest and 52.3 million tons of corn.

Mato Grosso’s services GDP grew 7.2%, being the second biggest increase in the country. The state was second only to Tocantins, which increased by 9.2% in 2023.
