The 1st Brazilian Interclub Longboard Tournament was played last weekend, at Parque Municipal Roberto Mário Santini, in Santos.
Despite the high temperatures, exceeding 30 degrees, the waves were small at Quebra-Mar. The event was attended by 108 athletes, from 14 clubs from various states in Brazil such as Ceará, Rio de Janeiro, Paraná and São Paulo.
– The objective is to bring together clubs in Brazil. And we tried to cover all age groups, because there are surfers from under 18 to over 70. There is a 74-year-old surfer here who came to compete – said the technical director, Sérgio Eduardo Ujvaru.
The competitions were in nine categories: Men’s Open, Women’s Open, Women’s 40+, Men’s 40+, 50+, 60+, 65+, 70+ and Under 18.
