Bruno Reis announces partnership with Bahia for Olympic and social projects

The mayor of Salvador, Bruno Reis (União), announced a partnership with Bahia for Olympic and social projects. According to him, the agreement was made with the president of the Tricolor association, Emerson Ferretti. The City Hall will renovate an 8 thousand square meter warehouse in Cidade Baixa.

“We are going to form a partnership with the Associação Esporte Clube Bahia. After he was elected, Emerson Ferretti approached me. The Association is responsible for other sports, so we have already rented a space. The City Hall will adapt this space and will make the transfer so that the Bahia Association can operate there, developing various Olympic and sporting activities. It will be in Cidade Baixa, in a warehouse that we rent with 8 thousand square meters”, he stated. “We will soon start the works and this year we will put them into operation. It will be another partnership that the City Hall carries out to strengthen sports in our city. Sport is a tool for social inclusion and can help thousands of children, teenagers and young people from our city who dream of being athletes”, he added.

Last March, Emerson Ferretti met with Bruno Reis and the municipal secretary of Social Promotion, Combating Poverty, Sports and Leisure (Semper), Júnior Magalhães. Before the meeting, the Tricolor representative had visited the headquarters of Botafogo, Flamengo, Fluminense and Vasco, to learn about the work carried out in Olympic sports.

In addition to the new partnership, the City Hall is already developing the ‘Bora Bahêa Meu Bairro’ project with Bahia. The program foresees the adoption of fields in vulnerable communities by Tricolor. The criteria for participating in the project is that young people must be students at public schools. Furthermore, the municipal executive still has another project with Vitória in the Barradão parking lot.

“We have a partnership with City for the fields. We implemented synthetic grass fields and City is operating 10 fields with schools, on average for at least 300 children. In total there are 4 thousand children in 11 arenas . We already have a partnership with Vitória, especially with parking, which we are implementing to serve the Canabrava Social Park. And Barradão, to put an end to traffic jams at games, like what happened yesterday in the first game of the Bahia Championship final “, commented Bruno Reis.
