Application can be made by those who have been harmed by weather or trading difficulties
Producers in Mato Grosso do Sul have until May 31, 2024 to request debt renegotiation. The request can only be made by those whose income has been affected by the weather or by marketing difficulties with hiring for certain programs.
This Monday (28), the resolution was published in the Official Gazette of the Union that authorizes financial institutions to renegotiate up to 100% of the principal of installments, due or about to expire between January 2nd and December 30th, 2024, in relation to rural credit operations for investment in soybean and corn crops and beef and milk cattle farming contracted and in compliance status until December 30, 2023.
Operations contracted with resources from Pronaf (National Program for Strengthening Family Agriculture) may participate; Pronamp (from the National Support Program for Medium Rural Producers); programs with resources from BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).
Credits contracted within the scope of Prodecoop (Cooperative Development Program for Adding Value to Agricultural Production), Procap-Agro (Capitalization of Agricultural Cooperatives and PSI (Investment Support Program) will not be able to participate.
Also according to the publication, the borrower must pay, at least, the amount referring to the financial charges contractually foreseen for the year 2024, observing that by the date of formalization of the renegotiation, the charges relating to the installments due up to that date must be paid; After the formalization date, the contractual charges relating to the remaining installments for this year must be paid by the respective due dates.
