The most recent survey by the National Civil Aviation Agency (Anac) showed that Marechal Rondon airport, in Várzea Grande, recorded 174,662 passenger arrivals and departures in February. In January there were 216,383 users. The month of March has not yet been released.

According to the report, there was a 26.44% drop in movement in the first two months of the year compared to 2023, which recorded January with 309,839 passengers and February 221,745.

Marechal Rondon airport is the main terminal in Mato Grosso with the largest flow of passengers. Last year alone, 2.83 million passengers passed through the terminal.

Aircraft movement also fell this year, 10.75% according to ANAC data recorded in the Ministry of Ports and Airports system. In January there were 1,700 flights and in February 1,622.

As Só Notícias has already reported, three other main airports in Mato Grosso also registered a drop in the first two months, in Sinop, Sorriso and Alta Floresta. Only Rondonópolis grew during this period.
