Awareness Blitz – Legal Driver was carried out at the Gravataí Highway Group on RS-118
Raise awareness among drivers about the importance of traffic safety. This was the objective of an action promoted by the Union of Cargo Transport and Logistics Companies in Rio Grande do Sul (SETCERGS), in partnership with the Military Brigade Road Command (CRBM), in Rio Grande do Sul, at the base of Gravataí , between 9am and 12pm this Thursday (28).
According to the organizers, drivers were approached and received guidance on good driving practices, respecting traffic rules and preventing accidents. Those who did not have a violation in the last year received a special honor: recognition, which encourages responsible behavior on the roads.
Drivers with a history of points on their license participated in an awareness workshop, where they were able to deepen their knowledge of road safety and also received educational gifts.
The driver of a private vehicle, Jurandir Mello Peres, received the Legal Driver certificate.
“It was amazing. I stopped by and received this very good news. I think it’s important to always follow traffic laws and drive calmly.”, he reported.
The truck driver, born in Piauí and resident of Itu, in São Paulo, received the diploma in the action for not having any infractions in the last year.
“I was very happy with this recognition and thought the action was cool. I think the most important thing is to always have respect for others. For people who drive trucks, because of the weight and size, it is always a responsibility that demands attention and more responsibility so as not to cause any accidents.“, he said.
Awareness for safer traffic
The president of SETCERGS, Sérgio Mário Gabardo, followed the educational action and spoke about the importance of raising awareness in traffic.
“We would like to thank the Military Brigade Road Command for this work. The best thing there is is prevention. So we want to raise awareness about this.”, stated Gabardo.
The Commander of the Military Brigade’s Road Command, Colonel Rogério Pereira Martins, highlighted that Brazil participates with the UN in the Global Pact to Reduce Traffic Deaths, which is already in its second edition. All traffic agencies, the Military Brigade, the Highway Command and the Federal Highway Police are together in this objective.
“Our vision is to raise awareness among citizens to be legal drivers, obedient to traffic rules and regulations, thereby reducing traffic accidents. Today, we highlight two priorities: one of them is obeying traffic rules. The others, which are one of the major causes of accidents, are inattention and recklessness. Therefore, everything involves always driving carefully and observing road safety precautions,” he said.
