The 41-year-old businessman, suspected of cutting the rope of a worker who was cleaning the facade of the building, also allegedly threatened other employees working there and tried to hide from the police. According to the Police Report, other witnesses suffered threats if they did not stop carrying out the cleaning work, in the condominium located in the Água Verde neighborhood, in Curitiba.

After the threats, the businessman took a knife and cut the rope from one of the workers. Due to a safety device, the victim did not fall from a height of approximately 20 meters.

Shortly after the incident, the workers called the police and informed them that the suspect was the resident of the penthouse, on the 27th floor. At the scene, the agents found a domestic worker, who at first denied that the businessman was in the property. However, the suspect was found hiding in a bedroom, after police broke down a door.

The knife used in the act was found on the property’s balcony. Both the businessman and the employee were taken to the police station.

Employee released and businessman arrested after confusion in building

At police headquarters, the chief interviewed the suspect and witnesses. During the session, the businessman preferred to remain silent and did not share details about the motivation for the act. With the evidence, the police chief ordered the businessman’s preventive detention, who was transferred to the Curitiba Public Prison.

The employee, who had allegedly tried to interfere with the police officers’ work, was released.
