Dog that lost an eye during a dog attack at a pet hotel remains hospitalized in Acre
Bella, a shih-tzu dog, who survived the dog attack at the pet hotel in Rio Branco about 10 days ago, remains in hospital recovering. The animal lost one of its eyes in the attack and needed blood donation.
In addition to Bella, the dogs Crystal and Chanel were also attacked and died at the veterinary clinic. The animals belong to civil police officer Luciana Vogel. This week, the public servant revealed that the place where she left the dogs was at the Doce Patinha veterinary clinic.
g1 contacted the establishment and was informed that the owner will take a position on the accusations later.
“Due to the great repercussion about what happened and fearing that this will happen to other pet families, I inform you that the place was Doce Patinhas and that the person responsible, Simone Florêncio de Matos, did not pay anything”, said Luciana on a social network.
The civil police officer also contacted the State Public Ministry (MP-AC) and filed a complaint against the establishment for mistreatment. She also highlighted that she received information that her dogs were attacked by pitbulls at the veterinary clinic.
“Of course it’s not the pitbull’s fault, but it wasn’t a fight between them, it was a big dog [que as atacou]. We received reports that she [dona do estabelecimento] breeds large animals, pitbulls, boxers and Belgian shepherds, he said.
Luciana spoke with the g1 by messages. She also accused the owner of the establishment of not covering the costs of Bella’s treatment. “She did not take a position or give any explanation, nor did she cover any expenses”, she criticized.
Blood donation campaign
The death of the two dogs and Bella’s hospitalization touched many people and gained repercussions in the capital of Acre. On Friday (26), Luciana started a campaign to raise blood for Bella.
The dog drank 320 ml of blood and several animals were taken to the clinic to donate blood for her. “Only one dog donated to her, however, several made themselves available. Four showed up there looking to give Bella life”, he celebrated.
On a social network, Luciana made a post explaining that she needed to travel for 11 days and decided to leave the dogs with someone she trusted, as she believed it was the best, because one of them was already 11 years old and would need greater care.
On April 18, when she was about to return home, she received a call from the pet hotel informing her that Bella and Crystal, two of her three dogs, had an inflammation that caused their eyes to bulge.
The person responsible for the space told her that she didn’t know what had happened, as she had left and there were no cameras in the place.
Luciana then asked her sister to check what had happened and, upon arriving at the scene, she realized that they were practically in a coma. The dogs Crystal and Chanel died at the veterinary clinic and the third, Bella, lost an eye. A fourth animal was also injured, according to Luciana.
The owner said that she received some photos sent by her sister and even blamed herself for taking the animals to the place. The public servant also explained that the worst thing about the death of her “companions”, as she called the dogs, is knowing how much they both suffered.
“They were not just part of my family, but they were a source of unconditional love, joy and companionship. There was an immeasurable void”, he concluded.
